Pair of Tiger Maple Frame w/ Antique Finish / Antique Glass by Rob Sykes Sykes #190509 Pair Frames Face frames are solid tiger maple, corner blocks are American ¼ sawn sycamore, with eastern white pine secondary. Frames are finished with traditional shellac and buffed out with an antique finish dark brown wax give it an aged look. New - completed 2019. The frame glass is poured with bubbles and waves. Glass is approximately 200 to 220 years old that came out of a southeastern Pennsylvanian farmhouse. Glass has minor age blemishes but is very much usable and would be considered in good condition that adds to the traditional look. Easily change out the glass and it would make a great pair of small matching mirrors. The majority of my work is Design-Build and bench made one at a time [one of a kind designs]. I strive to use solid wood in construction in my work and only occasionally use high quality plywood where deemed it would outperform a natural wood species, I hate pressboard, and MDF type products and you will never find them in any of my work. Finishes are applied by hand and often involve time consuming multistep processes to achieve an antique, vintage or worn appearance. The cabinets and furniture I build are made from mostly reclaimed wood. While my work is design-build in the traditional style, the use of the reclaimed wood gives the piece an original worn appearance without beating up the piece to make it look old. When using reclaimed wood, there will be imperfections knots-knot holes, nail holes, scratches, dings and dents. Those imperfections are what make each piece stand out on its own from the next. If you’re tired of cheap pressboard and plastic imports that might look good at first but only last only a few years take a look at this all-American custom bench made looking glass. This is a solid wood piece - and the best part is if you get tired of it is you will most probably be able to sell it for as much or more at a later date… Dimensions are 7 1/2” wide X 9 1/2” high [Outside of Frame] 6 5/8” x 8 5/8” Rabbet [Glass Size] • Solid Tiger Maple Wood Face with Eastern White Pine Secondary • Sampler Frame? • Ready to Hang • Custom Sizes or Orders Considered • Glass is Approximately 200 to 220 Years Old • American Bench Made • New Has Never Left my Shop Completed in 2019 Traditional Style / Philadelphia / Custom Bench Made / Wavy Glass / Sampler Frame / Antique Finish / Antique Glass / Figured Maple / Small Frame / Picture Frame / Pennsylvania / Tiger Maple Mirror? / Tiger Maple / Rob Sykes / Home Warming
